LPI Certification TrainingOK... What are you talking aboutAll right... fair question. We're talking about getting a piece of paper from an industry recognized organization that says you actually know a little bit about linux. Why, you ask? There can be many reasons, or no reason at all. Why LPI? Because the exams are only $100 each, as opposed to the whopping $795 win-or-lose RHCE exam.OK... I'm hooked. What do I have to do?Certification by LPI involves passing exams. That's it. Nothing more. You can take the exams at VUE and Prometric exam centers wherever you find them. There are two exams to pass to achieve "Level one", and two more exams to pass to achieve " Level two".What does "Level one" mean?According to LPI it means that you can work at the Unix command line, help out users, do simple admin tasks like add users, shutdown a linux machine cleanly, install linux, and get it hooked to the net.So what are these exams like?LPI Level 1 Exam 101, Release 2 tests
And you're gonna tell me more, right?Yeah, sure. Every week we'll be adding a link to new materiel. The information we put here is just a way to get you started, and is no substitute for hands-on experience and trying things out. The best way to learn is by doing, not by reading these pages, but at least maybe we can take some of the "fear factor" out of the experience. You can also find some pretty good study guides at places like Amazon, Barnes & Nobels, and BookPool, and if you're serious about taking the LPI exams, buying a professional study guide isn't a bad way to help yourself prepare. So when was the last time this page was updated?Created: Sunday 22 September, 2002.Hardware and Architecture added 28 September, 2002 |
